Bailey wins Debate Coach of the Year

The Georgia Forensic Coaches Association (GFCA) proudly announces Lucas Bailey of Midtown High School as the recipient of the prestigious Debate Coach of the Year honors for 2023.

Since 1983, the GFCA has bestowed the Coach of the Year title to honor outstanding individuals who have demonstrated exemplary coaching abilities and made significant contributions to the field of speech and debate in Georgia. Lucas is the second recipient of the Debate Coach of the Year in Midtown’s history (Lisa Willoughby won the honor in 2004).

Lucas Bailey showcased extraordinary leadership and guidance in coaching Midtown High School's Lincoln Douglas teams. Through his exceptional coaching strategies and dedication to his students, Bailey has fostered a supportive environment for critical thinking, research, and persuasive argumentation. Under his guidance, Midtown High School's debaters have achieved remarkable success and earned recognition at various tournaments throughout the year.

The GFCA wants to recognize the other nominees for the Debate Coach of the Year as being nominated is a testament to your hard work throughout the year.
